Shifting City dungeon location and guide for Diablo 4

How to earn that sweet Ravenous Aspect.

Dungeons are a great way to unlock valuable Legendary Aspects for your heroes in Diablo 4. The Shifting City, in particular, is fantastic for Rogues as it unlocks the Ravenous Aspect. This Aspect is a key component in several builds, including Twisting Blades. The biggest issue is finding the dungeon in the first place, and that’s where we come in. Let me show you the Shifting City dungeon location and guide for Diablo 4.

The Shifting City dungeon is in Dry Steppes, but you can’t see it on the map because it’s locked behind a Stronghold. Upon liberating the Ruins of Qara-Yisu, the dungeon will appear, as will a small settlement with a Waypoint. Even if you’re not a Rogue, the Stronghold yields valuable renown, and you can never have enough Waypoints for easy traveling.

The Ruins of Qara-Yisu are challenging, as there are many exploding enemies. Still, if you’re a Rogue, you have the Dash skill to stay out of trouble. Be sure to keep the skill on cooldown, and you should be fine. Strongholds are always at a higher level than the player, so if you’re overwhelmed, return later with better gear.

Welcome to the Shifting City

After you’ve defeated the Qara-Yisu stronghold, a settlement will appear in its place, and the Shifting City Dungeon is just to the north. Dungeons have random layouts, so I can’t help you with navigation, but here’s what you’re up against:

Ancient Statues

Although the Dungeon layout is randomized, there should be a ‘T’ Junction with two pedestals. You’ll find a Statue down each of the two paths. Simply return them to the pedestals one at a time to unlock the next area.

Ruins of Anguish

The following area is a large room, and stepping inside triggers a group of Fallen enemies to spawn. There are a lot of monsters to deal with, but you should prioritize the Shamans when you can. If you leave these enemies alive, they will resurrect their friends. Like any good spellcaster, these beasties like to stand away from the group and out of harm’s way.

Collect Animus

Everyone’s favorite task, collecting Animus, is next. There’s not much to say about this section. Keep an eye on the Skulls on the map and ensure you grab all three globes of Animus from the carriers. Bring up the map frequently to avoid missing any hidden branches on the path.

Defeat the Tomb Lord

The Tomb Lord is the final boss of the Shifting City Dungeon in Diablo 4. Fortunately, he’s not too difficult, although he does like to teleport and summon walls. Ultimately, the Tomb Lord preys on your impatience. If you rush, it’s easy to be caught out of position or with dwindling resources, so take your time. After a short battle, you’ll conquer the Shifting City. Enjoy that Ravenous Aspect; you’ve earned it!
