As Shift 2 Unleashed, a game just one missing ‘f’ away from disaster, nears its worldwide launch, developer Slightly Mad Studios reports job losses.
The title will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next week (29 March in the US, 1 April in the UK) and has an accompanying launch trailer (below) featuring some amazingly bad music.
But according to GamesIndustry, Slightly Mad has been forced to let an undisclosed number of staff go due to a different, unnamed project falling through at the worst possible moment.
“Essentially we were let down at the last minute by one publisher who we’d signed a deal with only for it to be canned before we even started,” studio head Ian Bell is quoted as saying. “I can’t say who. We are however still talking to them and a number of other publishers and are very optimistic for the future.”
