Looks like today is the day for various games to release pre-holiday updates, and Shadow of War is no exception. The latest patch notes are detailed here, and include a system of online fighting pits.

Want to see how your best Orc or Goblin fares against other people’s loyal companions? With the fighting pits, that’s exactly what you can do. Uruks and Orogs from armies across the world square off against one another in fights to the death, with the promise of rewards and upgrades to the victors. Not sure if you’re risking permanent death to your follower by putting them in the pits. I’m guessing not, though.

Here’s a brief trailer for Shadow of War’s latest free addition. Followed by the patch notes.

Free Content Update and Features (Included in the patch)

Online Fight Pits: The Online Fight Pits allows players to train up their Orc followers by pitting them against Uruks and Ologs from other gamers’ armies around the world. Through this ultimate fight to the death in the arena, players can earn powerful rewards and upgrades that can be used to improve their army and continue the battle for Mordor.
