Everything new in the seventh hotfix update for Baldur’s Gate 3

Fewer crashes to worry about.

On the morning of September 27, Larian Studios brought a small hotfix update to Baldur’s Gate 3. This update, the seventh hotfix doled out for the game so far, comes only a few days after the third major patch that dropped on September 22. According to the patch notes on Steam, the update aims to address various crashes and other issues that players have recently reported. Here are the specific fixes and changes that the hotfix update introduces to Baldur’s Gate 3.

What to expect in the new Baldur’s Gate 3 update

When it comes to crashes patched out by the hotfix, one of them had a chance of cropping up after listening to specific pieces of dialogue in the middle of a multiplayer session. Additionally, the update removes a crash resulting from “corrupted item stacks that could occur when unloading a level or moving to a new region” as well as a crash caused by loading up a saved game “with potentially invalid items in the inventory.”

Speaking of saved games, one of the fixes removed a save-related issue that had something to do with the game’s traps. The patch also addresses a save-related issue that would arise “when loading into a new region while Withers’ Wardrobe was still loaded in an old region.” Other miscellaneous fixes include the removal of item and character duplication when transporting items between cached levels and the removal of a visual bug associated with the text background option.

Larian Studios ensured Baldur’s Gate 3 fans that it will continue to make hotfixes for problems that it did not yet address with this current update. And for those unhappy with the shared stash feature introduced by the controversial third big patch, the developers specifically mentioned it as one of the issues that need patching. Hopefully, the developers will get around to adequately addressing some of the other common complaints fans have expressed about that recent patch.
