A new content update for Diablo Immortal is now live, and it introduces a long-requested feature to Diablo Immortal — server transfers. Also, the revealing developer blog post details the plan to merge some servers together in two weeks’ time.
The headline feature of today’s update is without a doubt the ability to transfer characters. With the new update, you can now transfer your characters from their current server to a new server of your choice. Your first character transfer will be free, but you will have to pay for any additional transfers.
Following the server transfer update, Diablo Immortal will also see certain servers merged together. Two weeks from now, developer Blizzard Entertainment will merge various servers. This is being done to improve the matchmaking experience of players looking for people to party up with. This merge will impact a total of 64 servers across North America 1, North America 2, East Asia 1 – KR, East Asia 1 – JP, and South America.
Something to consider with the upcoming server merge is that it might impact if you need to transfer your character in the first place. For example, let’s say that you play on North America 1’s Kanal server and want to party up with a friend on North America 1’s Eternal Crown server. Right now, one of you will have to transfer. But in two weeks’ time, these servers will merge together, making that no longer necessary.
The cost of transferring a character
As already mentioned, your first server transfer in Diablo Immortal will be free. However, if you want to transfer any additional characters, it is going to cost you. Every character transferred after the initial character will cost $15 USD or your regional equivalent.
Also, there are a couple of additional restrictions to transferring a character. For one, characters can only be transferred if they are at least level 30 or higher. Also, once a character is transferred from one server to another, it cannot be transferred again for 30 days.
