The limits of Saints Row IV are now only as constrained as the human imagination (well, and Valve’s rules) as the game has gained Steam Workshop support. It was just announced today so the Workshop isn’t exactly full right now, but no doubt many other mods will be on the way.
According to Volition, there were “many challenges in implementing Steam Workshop support” in Saints Row IV, but a dedicated team of staff spent their free time working on it. They figured out how to “update the engine and remove memory restrictions” and found “a way for individual mods to interact and work correctly with each other without the need for running special tools”.
Volition also thank the community at SaintsRowMods.com, without whom, they say, none of this would have been possible. In celebration of this modding addition, the game is 75% off on Steam for the next couple of weeks.
