SaGa Frontier Remastered: Getting infinite money/cash/credits with a couple of exploits
How cool is it that some of the exploits from over 20 years ago are still around in SaGa Frontier Remastered?
The Junk Shop exploit
For the uninitiated, the Junkyard exploit in SaGa Frontier Remastered entails the following steps:
- Go to Koorong -> Scrap -> Junkyard.
- Talk to the three lizards and choose “buying.” This requires 600 credits by default, but the cost goes up the further you are in your campaign.
- You’ll be able to pick up three junk items in the garbage dump area. These can turn into random loot.
- Go ahead and return to the lizards. Now, pick “selling.” When the menu opens up, highlight the Hyperion and press the accept button twice (i.e., “A” on your Xbox gamepad). Then, close the menu.
- When you return to the garbage dump, you’ll now be able to pick seven items.
- Return to the lizards, pick “selling,” highlight the Hyperion, press “A” twice, close the menu, and grab some more random loot. Keep doing this until you’re happy with your haul. This doesn’t necessarily make you a millionaire instantly, but you can get some amazing items that can be equipped or sold.
Note: If you exit the Junkyard, you’ll need to pay the lizards to rummage through the garbage again.
The Gold Ingot exploit
Making money in SaGa Frontier Remastered will be ridiculously easy a bit later in the game thanks to the Gold Ingot exploit. First off, you’ll need around 8,000 to 10,000 credits for this to work. Here are the steps:
- Go to Koorong -> Owmi -> Nelson -> enter the pub area.
- Talk to the man who’s selling Gold Ingots for 500 gold. Spend all your cash to buy as many as you can.
- Go back to Koorong and enter the first building that you see upon exiting the port. The man here buys Gold Ingots.
- Simply hold your D-pad to sell everything you’ve acquired. You’ll notice that the selling price of gold has increased, giving you some spare change.
- With your extra cash, return to the vendor in Nelson and buy a lot of Gold Ingots again. Sell them back at Koorong for a profit.
Note 1: Originally, Gold Ingot prices were supposed to fluctuate. You won’t necessarily make a profit if you buy and sell only a couple of pieces. But, if you have lots of these, that’s when the selling price skyrockets.
Note 2: Earning a lot of gold in SaGa Frontier Remastered is also expected since you can obtain a few Steam achievements.
SaGa Frontier Remastered is available via Steam.
