Both game are works of Facepunch Studios, who didn’t expect to get this much attention – and profit – at the Early Access level. While Garry’s Mod made 22 million in revenue from its nine years of release, Rust has reached 40 % of that amount in a matter of months.

Facepunch fans should be elated for what this game really means to them: the studio is now using the revenue from Rust to work on five titles simultaneously. Here’s hoping for the best for Facepunch in the coming months.
