As we approach the end of October, Halloween is on everybody’s mind. The annual holiday of tricking and treating is near and RuneScape developer Jagex is ready to celebrate. This year’s Halloween event is now live in RuneScape, bringing 20 spooky-themed cosmetics to earn with it.
As with last year, the Halloween event is taking place at Draynor Manor. Around the Manor’s garden, you’ll find a variety of skilling activities each with its own mini-quest. Some of these mini-quests are returning from last year, but there is a new one for players to complete too. Completing all of the mini-quests will reward an additional 14% experience boost to all Halloween activities.
While the experience is nice, that’s not why most RuneScape players will want to take part in the Halloween event. The main draw is undoubtedly the wide range of cosmetics that are up for grabs. By partaking in the skilling activities you can earn Spooky Tokens that are spent at the Spooky Reward Shop. At the Reward Shop, you can buy 20 different cosmetics and various boosts that will help complete each activity more efficiently.
Spookier Fresh Start Worlds
Alongside the returning cosmetics, this year’s event also has three brand new cosmetics. The Vampyric Regalia Outfit can be earned by completing the new mini-quest. As for the Spooky Reward Shop, there are two new cosmetics to purchase. These are Death’s Death Mask and the Renegade Armor cosmetic override set.
With so much returning content — from quests to cosmetics — RuneScape, players who took part in the Halloween event last year might consider skipping this one. However, those currently trying out the Fresh Start Worlds will definitely want to take part. As Fresh Start World accounts are new and this is the first Halloween event on those servers, nobody will have unlocked any of the content. Given that this only rolls around once a year it’s worth heading over to Draynor to make sure you don’t miss out.
