RuneFest 2010 To Host Golden Gnome Awards

Jagex Games Studio has announced its plans to host The Golden Gnome Awards, celebrating the most talented video makers within the RuneScape community.

The awards ceremony will take place at RuneFest 2010, an event hosted in London on Saturday 28 August 2010. There will be two video themes and three categories:

• Short Story in Machinima
• Short Story in Animation
• Short Story in Live action Video
• RSMV in Machinima
• RSMV in Animation
• RSMV in Live action Video

There’s still time to enter if you want to be in with a change to win a Golden Gnome; Simply upload your RuneScape video to YouTube then send a link to the video to [email protected] with ‘RuneFest 2010 YouTube Competition’ as the subject line.

“We’ve seen some phenomenal levels of creativity from RuneScape’s video making community over the years and at RuneFest 2010 we’re going all out with our biggest and most comprehensive video competition to date – The Golden Gnome Awards.” said RuneScape’s community manager Paul Mayer. “As a huge fan of RuneScape videos I can’t wait to meet some of our finest video makers on the red carpet.”

Tickets for the RuneFest 2010 go on sale later this month, but you can register for pre-sale tickets which will be available 24 hours before the main lines open. You can register for these tickets, as well as find the full terms and conditions, over at the official RuneFest site. Fans will be able to vote for the winners at the site shortly before the award ceremony.
