Risk Of Rain 2 Railgunner survivors of the void expansion

Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void expansion will add the Railgunner survivor

BOOM, headshot!

In today’s Risk of Rain 2 developer live stream, Hopoo Games and Gearbox Publishing shared some enlightening details about the upcoming DLC expansion, Survivors of the Void. There is an abundance of new content on the way, including new levels, items, and monsters. But the most notable additions are the two new characters joining the roster. During today’s live stream, Hopoo and Gearbox gave fans a first look at one of those characters. The Railgunner will be blasting her way into Risk of Rain 2 with the release of the Survivors of the Void expansion on March 1.

The Railgunner is about tempo and timing. Her playstyle is fast-paced, requires tactical thinking, and precise aim. If you back your aim in the chaos of Risk of Rain 2, then the Railgunner might be your new favorite character.

Railgunner abilities

The Railgunner wields a long-range M99 Sniper rifle as her primary weapon in Risk of Rain 2. When looking down her scope, she can easily target enemy weak points. And if she hits them, she deals a massive 1,000% damage with a guaranteed Critical Strike. Just so you’re clear, I didn’t accidentally add a zero to that number. The Railgunner can’t randomly crit with her shots. Instead, all Critical Strike Chance she receives from items is converted into more Critical Strike Damage. But that’s not all, if you time the Railgunner’s reload perfectly, you will increase the pace of your shots and deal an extra 500% base damage on your next shot.

Risk Of Rain 2 Railgunner Gameplay

The name of the game for the Railgunner in Risk of Rain 2 is long-range combat; you want to keep enemies at bay. Thankfully, she also has a tool for that. The XQR Smart Round System rapidly fires smart rounds at enemies that get too close. She also has Concussion Devices, which are essentially grenades that push away anything in their blast radius. You can use them to knock enemies away. Alternatively, you can use them on the Railgunner to launch her to safety.

Finally, the Railgunner’s special ability is called Supercharge. As you can guess from the name, it overloads her railgun to make it dish out a whopping 4,000% damage and 150% more Weak Point damage. Supercharge shots are explosive, but they also result in her weapon needing to recharge for five seconds. So, you’ll need to be careful about how you use it.

As with the other characters, once you escape Petrichor V with the Railgunner, you will gain access to alternative abilities. You’ll also unlock additional skin choices.
