Rise of the Tomb Raider exploring PCs in January

An update on Steam has indicated that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be hitting our favoured system in January.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is/was an Xbox timed exclusive, with other versions due to arrive later. For PC, that meant “early 2016” (while PlayStation-ers will have to wait until the end of 2016). According to the game’s new Steam page, that “early 2016” actually means “January”, which is a bit sooner than I actually expected it.

No word on when in January we’ll be seeing Lara’s return, but I daresay we’ll have more information – and probably some screenshots, or something – before long. Its initial Xbox release was extremely well-received and I adored the previous title, so I’ve got pretty high hopes for this.

That said, this seems awfully soon after the November launch of the Xbox version. Hopefully that’s an indication that the game was always developed with PC in mind, and not that we’re getting a rushed port. We’ll find out next month, I suppose.
