As expected after all the hints, Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 6 is in development for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The console versions are coming on 20 November 2012, with a PC release “to follow”.
In the sixth installment of the long-running series, Leon S Kennedy and Chris Redfield will be appearing together for the first time (albeit, in different parts of the world). Leon is with the President, who’s about to give a press conference revealing the truth about what happened in Raccoon City ten years before, until the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack. Meanwhile, Chris is in China, also under the threat of a viral outbreak.
Yep, sounds like Resident Evil alright. Executive Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi is promising “a gripping storyline, tense single-player and co-op action all set against a constant theme of horror,” and adds “We are calling this fusion dramatic horror”.
