Alan Wake 2 Remedy Road Rain

Remedy: Alan Wake 2 is now ‘playable from start to finish’

Things are going swimmingly, it appears.

As you may already know, developer Remedy Entertainment plans to release the highly-anticipated Alan Wake 2 at some point this year. Considering that we still haven’t seen too much of the game, however, fans may wonder about the current state of its development. Fortunately, it seems that fans do not have to worry for now, as an earnings briefing released today suggests that development has gone well. Specifically, the briefing states that Alan Wake 2 “is playable from start to finish” and has entered full production. This suggests that it won’t take too much longer before Remedy reveals more concrete information about the game.

According to the briefing, Alan Wake 2 “will soon have all content in place,” after which the developer will polish up as much as it can. The briefing also mentions the considerable value that Remedy Entertainment places in Alan Wake as a brand. Right after bringing this up, however, the briefing states that the company has not earned royalties from the release of Alan Wake Remastered as of right now. But as the launch of Alan Wake 2 nears, Remedy believes that sales of Alan Wake Remastered will go up due to players wanting “to experience the original story” before jumping into the sequel.

Alongside the news regarding Alan Wake 2’s playable state, Remedy’s briefing also comments on the other projects the studio has in development. These projects include the upcoming sequel to Control as well as its four-player co-op spinoff, which currently has the codename ‘Condor.’ Both of these projects in addition to the free-to-play shooter ‘Vanguard’ are in the proof-of-concept stage as of right now.

Notably, both Condor and Vanguard serve as Remedy’s first forays into the live-service format. However, considering the recent wave of live-service cancellations, it’s probably Remedy may be wary about dropping these games onto the market for now.
