If you’ve been grinding your way up to ‘Super Stalin’ level in Red Orchestra 2, it’s time to start again as Tripwire resets stats for all players.
In a press release, the developer explains that this step was necessary “Due to problems with stats and players either earning stats and achievements that they didn’t actually earn or earning stats at many times the intended rate”.
To soften the blow a little bit, everyone playing Red Orchestra 2 for the “next few weeks” will earn experience points at double the usual rate. There’ll also be an achievement called “In B4 Reset” to earn, which Tripwire claims will eventually be a potential gateway to “special rewards”.
Alongside changes to experience points and character progression, Tripwire states that “We’ve been working diligently since launch … and have made great progress fixing issues with matchmaking, VOIP, and stability as well as improving performance”.
Such changes are probably welcome, judging by the way in which Tim so evocatively summed up the game in his review: “It reminds me of an old sofa: it’s excellent fun to bounce around on, right up until the point when something comes loose and you get a sharp spring up your arse”.
