After a somewhat trouble-laden (but eventually resolved) launch on Rockstar Launcher and Epic Games Store, Red Dead Redemption 2 is headed to Steam. Rockstar Games confirmed through its Twitter account that the hit sequel will arrive on Valve’s shop on December 5. Its price should be the same as it is at other shops, though there could be a launch discount.

Is Red Dead Redemption 2 worth picking up on Steam?

The PC port of the Western sequel looks to be the best yet on the PC front, with beautiful visuals and fast-moving gameplay. However, some users noticed a bit of trouble when that edition launched. This included a number of glitches and performance issues, as well as troubles with the Rockstar Launcher itself. The publisher has since fixed a number of these with patches, so hopefully the Steam version runs smoothly at launch. That’s not a guarantee, though.

For those that missed what the game is all about, there’s a good description on the Epic Games Store page. But in a nutshell, this prequel follows Arthur Morgan as he and the Van Der Linde gang make their way through the West. This includes skirmishes with sheriffs and outlaws alike, which require Arthur to be quick on the draw. With a huge open world to explore and great gameplay aspects to take hold of, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a thrilling follow-up to play.

The official Steam page for Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t up just yet, but it should be sometime in early December. That should make it easy to preorder and pre-load so that you can play right when it comes out.

Check out the trailer above and count the days until its arrival! Red Dead Redemption 2 is already available for the Rockstar Launcher and Epic Games Store. This game on Steam is something else to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
