During Razer’s E3 2021 Keynote event, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan unveiled the Razer Blade 14, calling it one of the most powerful gaming laptops with the best performance and thinnest design. Min stated that Razer Blade 14 is the “ultimate AMD gaming laptop” and for good reason. First off, the laptop is said to be the world’s most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop thanks to its strong CPU and GPU pairings.
The Razer Blade 14 comes with up to a 5900HX AMD Ryzen processor with eight cores based on the Zen 3 microarchitecture and 16 threads. This CPU is capable of running the latest AAA games smoothly while still being efficient on battery life. The Ryzen 5900HX will also have a max boost clock speed of 4.8 GHz and is fully unlocked for overclocking. In addition, the processor will have 20 MB of L3 Cache which is double that of 4000 series CPUs.
As for the GPUs, the base model will feature an RTX 3060, but premium models will come with either RTX 3070 or RTX 3080 graphics cards. These 30 Series cards offer features like Nvidia DLSS and RTX ray tracing. The laptop will also use 3rd-gen Nvidia Max-Q technology for power and performance optimization.
Thin FTW
All this fits inside a 0.66-inch thin aluminum chassis which makes the Razer Blade 14 the “world’s thinnest 14-inch gaming laptop.” To keep things cool in such a small form factor, Razer developed a vapor chamber cooling system along with fans that feature 88 ultra-thin blades each 0.1mm thin.
Tan was emphasized that the Razer Blade 14 is going to be the ultimate ultra-thin gaming laptop with no compromises in any area. The standard model will have a 1080p 144Hz display while the premium models will feature 1440p displays that reach 165 Hz.
The Razer Blade 14 will feature x2 UBC-C ports, x2 USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and even a small webcam for good measure. Furthermore, the laptop will sport a Microsoft precision touchpad and a fully customizable Razer Chroma RGB keyboard.
The base model will retail at $1,799.99 while the RTX 3070 and 3080 models will sell for $2,199.99 and $2,799.99 respectively. The laptops are on sale now at Razer’s website.
