Quantum Break not coming to Steam

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Last week’s announcement that Remedy’s Quantum Break would be coming to the PC upset the Xbox One community, why we’re not exactly sure, but it didn’t go down well with everyone.

Now it’s time to make PC gamers unhappy with the news that the PC version will not be coming to Steam and will be a Windows 10 only title. It is therefore confirmed as a Windows 10 exclusive.

All this came to light in the Major Nelson Podcast which focused on Quantum Break with Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg responding to the questions. Greenberg reassured Xbone owners that they will have more exclusives in the future and this Windows 10 release is not a move away from the Xbone. Both versions of Quantum Break will also share save files and achievements in case you were wondering.

With most PC gamers using Steam, and not everyone having upgraded to Windows 10, it will be interesting to see how many PC gamers pick the game up on 5 April. Will we see Microsoft keep everything off Steam in the future? Do we really need to be playing the silly “exclusive to X store” game on the PC with Microsoft and Steam competing?

If Microsoft’s plan to keep everything in the Windows store fails then they might have to rethink this but this could be the start of a Steam vs Microsoft battle.

Thanks Dual Shockers.
