New developer Punchers Impact has announced Crasher, a multiplayer online battle arena which is due to be released later this year.
Crasher will include heavy RPG elements, and will feature “Stars” (seen below), which are vehicles that each have their own weapons arsenal and skills. Players then engage in TvT (team versus team) gameplay using these Stars.
A league mode, which allows players to overtake areas and destroy bases, various arcade modes, last man standing and death match are also included with Crasher. There’s also Garage mode, which allows players to unlock new Stars and new achievements in order to enhance equipment and customize their vehicles.
“It is very important for us to be involved at the heart of our industry by offering gamers the games they expect,” explains Thierry Bensoussan, managing director of Punchers Impact. “By building a pool of creative talent within a single studio, we’re ensuring that Punchers Impact has solid financial foundations allowing it to focus on developing innovative projects. Mission accomplished: Punchers Impact already has around forty talented employees who have worked for the biggest French and English speaking studios from Free Radical to EA.”
Crasher is expected to be available by digital distribution in late 2010.
