PSA: Use this Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ) Easter Egg to keep your weapons’ Pack-a-Punch, rarity, and Ammo Mods

Never waste your time again.

Instead of wasting all your time and Essence by exfiling after increasing your weapon rarity and Pack-a-Punching, there is an Easter Egg in Modern Warfare Zombies that allows you to convert your upgrades to exfilable materials that you can use in your next run.

One of my main cruxes with MWZ is that you can spend a lot of time building up your Essence only for all of your weapons’ upgrades, including Pack-a-Punch level, Ammo Mods, and rarity, to disappear. This Easter Egg provides a chance to fix that and I’m never not going to use it.

How to successfully exfil with rare and Pack-a-Punched weapons in Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ)

An Easter Egg has been discovered in MWZ that allows you to convert all the upgrades on your weapons into their raw materials. For example, if you have two weapons and one has Pack-a-Punch level one, blue rarity, and the Brain Rot Ammo Mod and one has Pack-a-Punch level two and purple rarity, using this trick will strip your weapons of those upgrades and give you one Refined Aetherium Crystal, one Raw Aetherium Crystal, one Epic Aether Tool, one Rare Aether Tool, and the Brain Rot Ammo Mod.

The only downside to this trick is that it’s in Threat Zone Three which has extremely fast and strong zombies that can down you in two hits if you don’t have armor or Jugger-nog. I tried to find this Easter Egg and almost immediately got overrun by zombies and died.

Where to find the Pay Respects Easter Egg in Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ)

The location of this Easter Egg is in Threat Zone Three on the west side of Old Town. It is on the roof of a castle rampart located there. This Easter Egg is called Pay Respects because it features a famous Call of Duty call back and now famous meme of “Press F to Pay Respects.”

On top of the castle rampart, in the section with grass and a circular wall, you’ll find a grave marked with weapons buried in the ground. 180 degrees behind the grave, you’ll see a blue stuffed bunny. When facing the grave, interact with it to pay respects. If you do that, your weapon will be stripped of all upgrades and an Aether Rewards Bubble will appear. If you’re lucky, inside you might find your weapon’s upgrade raw materials.

The Pay Respects Easter Egg doesn’t have a 100% chance of working, but it’s always worth a try. I performed this Easter Egg with a common weapon with the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod on and all I got in my Aether Rewards Bubble was a picture of a dog. To me, it seems like the higher your weapon’s upgrades, the more likely you are to get your raw materials back.

It can be very dangerous to go to this location as there are very difficult zombies guarding it, but if you use a Decoy Grenade or Cymbal Monkey and take the time to pay respects for both of your weapons, you’ll have a higher chance of getting upgrade materials than going straight to exfil and getting nothing. In my opinion, it’s always worth a shot.
