PSA: The cannons in The Finals are usable

Ahoy, Matey!

For some reason, The Finals has a lot going on under the surface. You wouldn’t expect it, but there’s so much going on other than shooting other constants. For example, I didn’t know you could counter poison gas — that became a game changer.

However, players are finding more gameplay elements that can turn the tide of the match. There are cannons on certain maps in The Finals and they are usable. Read on below to find out more.

On maps like Manaco, there are a few cannons near cash-out points. Thanks to a discovery made by Reddit user RandomRaccoon2909 who posted a video demonstrating the use of the cannons, The Finals can be even more chaotic. However, you can’t move them, so when you’re using the cannons, make sure your target is in front of you. As for reloading, it seems like the cannons auto-reload after some time. I would suggest getting one shot in and then leaving the area.

If you’re an achievement hunter, there doesn’t seem to be one associated with the move. But, as more and more players learn about this function, Embark Studios may add one in at a later date.

Why would I need to use the cannons?

There are a bunch of reasons to interact with them. For one, you can defend the cash point, making it harder for the enemies to advance. Additionally, if you want to cause more chaos and destruction, these cannons can help with that. It’s just a great way to keep the pressure off your team and more on others. This way, you can give your team breathing room and time to cash out.

However, since they can’t be angled around, enemies will get the flank on you. When that happens, make sure you close any gaps that the enemy created by moving around.

Cannons will make you feel stronger, but what you Specialize in will make more of a difference. Check out this handy guide to see which Specialization is right for you.
