Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t hold your hand and lets you make a ton of mistakes, whether that be failing quests because you took too long or wiping out an entire town because your Pawn got infected with Dragonsplague, but the game rarely feels unfair. There is one cruel exception, though, and it involves the rare Seeker’s Token collectibles scattered throughout the world.
Since Dragon’s Dogma 2 makes you use your brain to complete many of its quests, it’s fitting that the Sphinx is one of the greatest challenges that you can encounter during your travels. Keeping with tradition, the Sphinx offers rewards for those who can solve her riddles. Most of them are fairly simple, but one of them will make your heart drop if you haven’t been keeping notes during your playthrough.
The Sphinx’s fifth puzzle, the Riddle of Rumination, requires you to return to the site where you collected your very first Seeker’s Token. You only have seven days to find it, too. Mind you, there are 250 of these things hidden throughout the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 and you don’t even get rewards until you turn in multiple, so basically nobody is keeping track of these things. Your only hope here is getting lucky and finding your first one in a memorable spot.
If you found your first Seeker’s Token on the side of some random road somewhere, though, you’re out of luck. It’s a shame too, since the reward for solving this riddle is a trio of Ferrystones that can be used for fast travel. You also won’t be able to obtain the ultimate reward for solving all 10 riddles (and defeating the Sphinx) either, so Eternal Wakestone will have to wait until your next playthrough.
If you’re still early in Dragon’s Dogma 2, try to retrace your steps and figure out where you found your very first Seeker’s Token before meeting the Sphinx. The seven-day time limit doesn’t begin until you accept the Riddle of Rumination, after all, so there’s no need to rush. Only visit the Sphinx once you’re absolutely sure you’ve got the right location in mind, otherwise, you’ll have to come back on a second playthrough to get all of the rewards.
