Many have gone up in arms that you have to pay to change your appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2. But don’t worry, it’s entirely possible in-game, and doesn’t cost too much, either.
You don’t need the Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC to change your appearance
Upon the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2, many in-game items were listed as DLCs for players to buy. This move mislead many into believing that the only way to get these items was through paying real money. So to see an item that allows you to change your appearance as one of these DLCs makes it seem as though that’s your only option.
The Art of Metamorphosis is listed for a couple of dollars but is also listed as 500 Rift Crystals in the Pawn Vocation Guild.
Next to any Grand Riftstone in a major city should be a Pawn Vocation Guild. You can buy all manner of items from here, from spectacles to items that change as an aspect of your Main Pawn. The Art of Metamorphosis is also listed.
This is the same for any other DLC item, they’re not so hard to find that you should part with your own money for a game you’ve already paid for.
How to change your appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2
With your Art of Metamorphosis in hand (whether you bought the DLC or not), you should go to a Barberie that every major city should have. A Barberie can change certain aspects of your appearance for a decent fee at any time. So if you want merely to change your hair, then don’t use the Art of Metamorphosis to do it.
You can present your Art of Metamorphosis to the NPC there which will allow you to change your, or your Pawn’s, appearance as you see fit.
Note that this is not a full do-over. You will not be able to change race or body type. Those are permanent aspects of your character. Not even the DLC Art of Metamorphosis can do that.
This may not have been the exact news you wanted to hear, but at least you can earn the DLC in-game for a low price, and you can do it as many times as you want.
If you want to fully change your character, if you’re on PC, you can try to manually delete your save file to start again. This may have some consequences, however, thanks to Denuvo.
