One underrated feature in the Season of the Wish is how players can access their Vault from orbit without setting foot in the Tower. Funnily enough, Guardians have already found a way to use this elsewhere, so here’s how to access your Vault during a mission in Destiny 2.
How to access the Vault during missions in Destiny 2
From the Season of the Wish, Guardians can access their Vaults from orbit using the button prompt at the bottom of the screen. To do this during a mission, open the map screen, move across to Destinations, and then choose an activity like a Raid or the Strike playlist.

When you select the activity, the Launch screen will appear, and you can access your Vault the same way as you usually would from orbit. Once you’ve sorted out your guns, back out of the menu, and you’re good to go.
You can use this trick just about anywhere, even activities where your loadout is locked. You can’t change your equipped weapon in these activities, so it doesn’t really serve a purpose, but you can do it all the same.
Will I get in trouble for using this trick?
We can’t say for sure if there will be repercussions for using this trick, but it would be incredibly unlike Bungie if there were. Since the early days of Destiny, Bungie has never dished out punishments for exploits. In fact, the developers even made the famous Loot Cave glitch from Destiny 1 into a feature of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon in Destiny 2.
Bungie has made plenty of questionable choices with Destiny over the years, but penalizing players unfairly isn’t one of them.
