As players are finding their Maisters for their Vocations, they’ve discovered something important about gaining both Sorcerer Ultimate Skills. This is a PSA to not give forgery spellbooks to Trysha, one of the Sorcerer Maisters, in Dragon’s Dogma 2 if you want Meteoron.
Give forgery spellbooks to Myrddin instead of Trysha in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Two Maisters in Dragon’s Dogma 2 will ask for powerful spellbooks which will lead to obtaining Ultimate Skills, but this is a PSA to not give forgery versions to Trysha. There are two Ultimate Skills for Sorcerers, which are Meteoron and Maelstrom. The former is earned from the Sorcerer Maister Myrddin, and the latter is from the other Sorcerer Maister Trysha.
If you want to get both Skills you must be careful about who you give the real and fake spellbooks to. The Mage Maister is Eini, and she’ll ask your Arisen to give five spellbooks to her grandaughter Trysha, which are:
- Let There Be Light
- Fulminous Shield
- Nation’s Death Knell
- Howling Blizzard
- Towering Earth
While there are real versions of these grimoires all over the map, you can also get forgeries at the Scrap Store. You’ll want to make forgeries of these five books since Myrddin, a Sorcerer Maister, wants these same five books as well. So who do you give the real and the fakes to?
How to get Meteoron and Maelstrom Sorcerer Ultimate Skills
To obtain both Meteoron and Maelstrom for your Sorcerer, you must remember to give the forgery spellbooks to Myrddin, and the real spellbooks to Trysha. This is because giving the fakes to Myrddin will still allow you to earn Maelstrom. Giving fake grimoires to Trysha, however, won’t end up with you gaining Meteoron.
It’s also important to remember that it’s best to give both Maisters all five books. While some players have said they’ve given three and said no to giving two more to still earn the Ultimate Skill, others have said only giving three will lock you out of earning the Ultimate Skill. To avoid any mishaps, give all five copies to Myrddin and Trysha, but make sure you know which are fake and which are real.
One more thing: A player on Reddit made an important discovery about missing out on the Maelstrom Skill from Myrddin. This player said that if you finish Myrddin’s quest with Meteoron equipped he’ll ask you who taught it to you. If you don’t tell him that Trysha taught it he won’t give you Maelstrom. So make sure to admit that Trysha taught it to you. Perhaps get Maelstrom first before Meteoron to avoid this trouble.
These aren’t the only Maisters you can meet in Dragon’s Dogma 2, there’s at least one for every Vocation and they’re important for learning Ultimate Skills.
