Remember the Potato Sack game that Valve used to promote Portal 2? The idea was you could perform extra tasks in 13 indie titles (assuming, you know, you owned them) to unlock potatoes and, in theory, get Portal 2 released early. It didn’t quite work out like that, as despite everyone’s best efforts Portal 2 only came out about 10 hours before it was supposed to.
Anyway, those 13 indie titles are back together again in what Steam and Valve are calling the ‘Potato Sack Reunion’. In effect, this is a cheap way of getting a lot of independent titles in one go. How cheap? $20 USD cheap.
For that, you get (ready for this name-splurge?): 1… 2… 3… KICK IT! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby), AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome, AudioSurf, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Bit.Trip Beat, Cogs, Defense Grid: The Awakening, Killing Floor, Rush, Super Meat Boy, The Ball, The Wonderful End of the World and Toki Tori.
The offer runs until 4pm (Pacific Time) on Thursday, so you’ve got just over 24 hours to take advantage.
