Belly Drum has become an iconic move within the Pokémon community, especially with those hardcore competitive and Tera Raid players. It’s a potent move to have on any physical attacker that halves the user’s HP to maximize their physical attack. This makes it an excellent move for Tera Raids, which are timed encounters against Pokémon with significantly increased stats. Here’s our guide on how to get Belly Drum TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Get Belly Drum TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Each new generation of Pokémon brings about several changes, including which moves are included in the TM pool. Unfortunately, the move Belly Drum is not available as a TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. However, there are a few ways to obtain the move on certain Pokémon.
Getting Belly Drum by leveling up
A few of the Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet learn Belly Drum by leveling up. These Pokémon include Makuhita, which learns Belly Drum at level 25, and its evolved form, Hariyama, which learns Belly Drum at level 26. Hariyama’s future Paradox form, Iron Hands, also learns Belly Drum at level 84. Keep in mind Iron Hands is a Violet-exclusive Pokémon.
Getting Belly Drum via Mirror Herb
Several other Pokémon can get Belly Drum in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet by using a Mirror Herb. These Pokémon include the Azurill line, the Skwovet line, the Slowpoke line, the Teddiursa line, and Eiscue.
You can get Belly Drum in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on these Pokémon by purchasing a Mirror Herb from the Delibird Presents in Cascarrafa, which costs 30,000 PokéDollars. Once you have the Mirror Herb, edit your party, so it only contains your Belly Drum user and the Pokémon you want to learn Belly Drum. Delete one of the moves on your learner Pokémon, so there’s an open slot for Belly Drum.
From there, simply give the Mirror Herb to your learner Pokémon, and start a picnic with just the two Pokémon. Wait a few minutes, exit the picnic, and your learner should have Belly Drum in its moveset.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can be purchased on the Nintendo eShop.
