NIS America is best known for incorporating Japanese culture into its game play and sharing this experience within America. As a sub division of Nippon Ichi Software, Inc, NIS America is most recognized for titles such as the Disgaea series as well as the Atelier (Atelier Meruru, Atelier Totori etc) games. NIS delivers various games which all have their unique style of game play, story line and animation. They do it all for the loyalty of the consumer and this year is no different for the growth and development of NIS America. With the upcoming March 25th release date for The Witch and the Hundred Knight, NIS jump starts into a dominate year for Playstation releases. This is the first in several titles NIS plans to release.
In addition to this dark action RPG, NIS has also announced a side scrolling beat em up action RPG entitled “Battle Princess of Arcadias.” (pictured above) When playing as Battle Princess Plume, it is your responsibility to clear the monsters out of the once lovely Kingdom of Schwert. In this high paced RPG you will encounter enemy waves to be faced in real time combat, unique bosses with their own specific sets of skills as well as being able to utilize almost any weapon you could think of within the characters of your party. Battle Princess Arcadia is set for release in 2014 for the Playstation 3.
Also new to the PS3 console this autumn from NIS is Fairy Fencer F. This turn based RPG was developed by Compile Heart. The character art in this game was done by Tsunako, concept art by Yoshitaka Amano and music by Nobuo Uematsu. All of which have worked on various Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy fans and other RPG fans alike may want to take a glance in Fairy Fencer F’s direction this fall.
For all you hand held lovers, NIS has a few treats in store for the PS Vita. Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc fans prepare yourselves for the handheld release of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye despair. Similar to the first Danganronpa it’s up to you to use your abilities to save yourself from life and death situations. This game takes place on an island, in which you’d believe would be just a peaceful class trip…but once all your class mates start to kick the bucket, it’s up to you to survive. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair hits Vita and digital download this Fall.
Last but certainly not least, complimenting the most popular game in the Disgaea series, is Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited. This is a rerelease of the well loved Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten which debuted back in 2011 for the Playstation 3. This hand held version is an expansion of the original including an extended back story to the characters you’ve known to grow and love, new additional characters, cameos from characters in previous Disgaea games, new jobs and magical spells as well as being even more visually stunning thanks to the Vitas OLED screen. All in all it’s looking like an amazing year for Sony and NIS. Don’t miss it.
