PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will finally leave Early Access in late December according to the developers who made the announcement today at Paris Games Week.
The game has yet to make it onto the Xbox but that will happen on 12 December while it’s still in PC Early Access. The XBox battle royale gameplay will “slightly differ” from the PC version when it hits the console. The Xbox version has to play catch-up with a testing phase and it has its own development roadmap but both will eventually end up the same.
PUBBG Corp’s CEO Chang Han Kim said, “In addition to announcing Xbox’s XGP launch date on December 12, we also shared the exciting news that we’re on track to launch 1.0 for the PC version in late December. This has been an amazing year for us and launching both 1.0 on PC and on Xbox through Xbox Game Preview are huge milestones for the team. I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in such a short time, but I’m even more excited to say that we’re just getting started.”
When the game does eventually release on PC, vaulting and the new desert map will be in play. A live stream with members of PUBG and the Xbox team aired this evening and that can be watched here.
