Platinum Games Call PS3 Port of Bayonetta a Failure

Platinum Games director Atsushi Inaba, in an interview with Edge Magazine, called the PS3 conversion of Bayonetta his company’s biggest failure. They declined to take on the port of the game themselves, instead letting an in-house Sega team handle the conversion. What resulted were framerate issues and control issues, despite what was an excellent game.

Platinum Games has recently made it known that the sequel, Bayonetta 2, will be a Wii U exclusive. They had been tied up with Sega as a publisher for five games and once those games were finished they had already begun talking to others. This is what led them to Nintendo, who will be publishing Bayonetta 2.
