Pitchford On Fallout 3 Vs Borderlands

Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford believes his upcoming title Borderlands will be “less boring” than Fallout 3.

Speaking to OXM (thanks CVG), Pitchford criticised Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic shooter for its dialogue trees and suggested Borderlands might appeal to gamers who didn’t have the patience for Fallout.

“I understand why we do those games [like Fallout 3] but I don’t know – do we want that? I think that game could have been much better if it didn’t have a single dialogue tree,” he said.

“Honestly. And if it was more action-orientated, and if the shooting was better.”  

Although Borderlands is described as a role-playing-shooter, it has a heavy action focus and also supports four player co-op. Find out more in our preview here
