As promised by the Behemoth back in the mists of 2016, Pit People is on Steam’s Early Access as of today. If you want to read more about how the game looking during Closed Beta, head over towards these preview words.
If that sounds like too much effort, then the new Early Access trailer gives a reasonable overview of the collection of weirdness present in this title. At heart, it’s a turn-based strategy game – but one where your control over party members is not absolute. They have minds of their own when it comes to deciding which of the fools next to them is going to get smacked, so you’re largely concerned about positioning.
Those party members start off vaguely human, but eventually encompass any of the strange and marvellous creatures you encounter (and trap) on your overworld travels. There are quests galore, about twenty billion ways to customise your heroes, and both co-op and competitive multiplayer options too.
Right now, Pit Peopleremain in Early Access for has “a sizeable chunk of the Story mission, plus access to several world maps (yes, there are more than one!), quests, Unfair Challenge against the AI, and Versus mode”. The Behemoth plan to “no longer than a year and no shorter than a couple months”. After that, the game will cost a bit more than $15.00 USD.
