If you ever found the spell effects in Pillars of Eternity to be cluttering up the screen and obscuring useful information, VFX Opacity in Pillars of Eternity 2 should help. Basically, it’ll increase the transparency of spell effects when the game is paused. Obsidian say they plan to link this to a slider, so you can control exactly how far back the effects get scaled.

Other things highlighted in this latest trailer include some top notch bird hopping animations, drunken Ogres, and physics effects on flails. Oh, and Josh Sawyer acting sinister.
