Publisher 2K Games is well known for its various successful sports titles. Not only does it publish both the well known NBA 2K and WWE 2k franchises, but it was also once responsible for Major League Baseball games. Now, it has a new sport joining its lineup. As the first addition to the 2K Sports family since 2013, golf title PGA Tour 2K21 is officially on its way.
The reveal trailer dropped on 2K Games’ official YouTube account earlier today. Although it doesn’t give us too much in terms of feature reveals, we do know that the game will release on August 21 for Stadia and Steam. There is currently no suggestion of an Epic Game Store release being in the works.
PGA Tour 2K21
One small detail viewers may overlook is the video description confirming some kind of MyPlayer pre-order bonus pack. This is more significant than it sounds, as it effectively confirms some kind of MyCareer will feature in PGA TOUR 2K21. Additionally, the trailer markets some kind of “All-new career mode.”
It’s not just the PGA Tour license that 2K Games has acquired for its latest title. In the trailer, we see full licensing for the Tour Championship, The Players Championship, the FedEx Cup, and the Valero Texas Open.
Similar to the NBA 2K franchise, it seems like PGA Tour 2K21 will put a big focus on brand choice and player customization. In this trailer alone, we see references to gear made by various golf giants like Callaway, Titleist, and Adidas.
If you’re interested, you can pre-order PGA Tour 2K21 today for $60, or your regional equivalent, from the 2K Games official website. Although not available right now, a Steam page should follow sometime soon. Keep an eye on the official 2K Games Twitter account for further details as we draw closer to release.
