Penny Arcade Adventures Discontinued

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

Penny Arcade’s Mike Krahulik has stated that “There won’t be an Episode 3” of the RPG series.Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness was an episodic RPG series based around the popular webcomic, with Hothead Games taking development honours.Speaking to Joystiq, Penny Arcade artist Mike Krahulik confirmed “There won’t be an Episode 3. We’re actually not making a third episode of the game.”“Hothead has Deathspank and they have a chance to do something really cool with it,” elaborated Jerry Holkins, Penny Arcade’s writer. “And they need to have an opportunity to make it incredible.” When quizzed about why Hothead couldn’t work on both games, Holkins responded “I think they could’ve made DeathSpank and Episode 3 but I think Episode 3 would’ve suffered. I mean, I know it would have suffered. So we’d rather not do it than do it half-assed and so we’re going to finish that story but it’s going to be on our website.”The news that the plot will be continued is good news for those who’ve already invested time and money in the series, but it’s still a shame. While not exactly groundbreaking, the Penny Arcade Adventures titles were entertaining enough.
