Paradox and Colossal Order are about to release the next expansion for their excellent city builder Cities Skylines. This latest content release, called Cities: Skylines – Parklife, adds a load of adventure park action to players’ cities.

I have been getting stuck into Parklife for a couple of days and thought it would be good to take a look at the three new park options, the Zoo, amusement park, and nature reserve. With a small city I have pre-built for testing purposes, I took my cash and unlocked all the main attractions for each of the three new parks to show you what to expect when the game releases next week.

It took some time to get these unlocked as each park needs to reach level five to gain access to everything. This means players need to keep visitors entertained and getting enough visitors dropping into the attractions to level up.

It’s not a great looking city this one and I had to bulldoze a lot of it to fit all the new stuff in. That’s something you need to keep in mind when you start playing because some rides, especially zoo buildings, chew up a lot of space and some will need access to water.

This expansion does add a lot and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my time with it over the past few days, even just messing with the parks. As with every Cities: Skylines expansion, it adds more content to an already great game and it’s well worth the cash if you’re a fan.

Cities: Skylines Parklife releases on 24 May and is available now for pre-order.
