The problem with writing about games is that so many are released throughout the year, and there’s never enough time to play them all. Luckily, here at PC Invasion we’re independent. We choose what interests us and what we think would interest the readers. However, it’s still frustrating not having the time to play everything we’d like to.
This year, I’m setting aside some time to get stuck into the PC games that have been taunting me in my Steam library for a long time. These are the PC games that will hopefully keep me busy over the break.
Grim Dawn
I’ve been wanting to get stuck into Grim Dawn for months. I managed to level a character earlier in the year, but then things got busy that the game was reluctantly set aside. Now the ARPG is feature complete, so it’s a perfect time to start working my way back through the four Acts with a new character.
Satellite Reign
Peter really wanted to review Satellite Reign, so it was another game that sat there in my Steam library. Having played the original Syndicate many, many years ago, Satellite Reign should hopefully deliver more dystopian corporate violence; and I’ve been gagging to get stuck in. Peter enjoyed it so that’s good enough for me to add it to my holiday shortlist.
Marvel Heroes
Okay, it’s not new, but Gazillion have been firing out content updates and new heroes like mad since the start of 2015. After talking to David Brevik at GamesCom this year, I got a massive urge to jump back in. With Marvel Heroes 2016 coming in January, now would be the perfect time to continue levelling my Scarlet Witch. I may even give a few of the newer heroes a try.
GTA V
One of my biggest frustrations this year was not completing GTA V. I had a great time working my way through the story and even testing it in VR, but I never did get it finished, and I feel it’s something that needs to be done. I’m not bothered about playing online, I just need to get the story completed. It will be finished!
There are a huge amount of games that could have been picked, but I’ve settled on these four. There’s just over one week so I’ll probably be lucky if I even manage to finish GTA V. Fortunately, the Christmas TV is terrible (unless you like groundbreaking British period drama garbage like Downton Abbey), so I should be able to sneak in a fair few hours.
So, what are you going to play over the festive period? Is there anything you have wanted to play, but have not had the time until now?
