PC gamers prefer Battlefield 1’s setting over Call of Duty Infinite Warfare’s

In a truly scientific experiment we’ve been running for a few days now, we have discovered that PC gamers are more interested in Battlefield 1 than Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

The results are not surprising considering what happened on Youtube earlier this week. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is now the most down voted videogame trailer in Youtube’s history with more than 3 million down votes. Does this mean anything? Probably not, it’s Youtube after all and we all know what the comments and voting is like over there.

The issue of all the Youtube trailer hate was brought up at Activision’s latest investor call and the guys up top shrugged it off by saying they were not concerned and pre-orders are going strong. They are probably right, CoD fans will buy Infinite Warfare, there’s no doubt about that.

So why has Battlefield 1 captured everyone’s imagination? For the past couple of years we’ve been bombarded with modern shooters/sci0fi, and so when something a little different comes along that’s being developed by a AAA studio, gamers sit up and take notice. There was also food for thought in the Battlefield 1 trailer with its horses bi-planes and tanks. How would they work? What will I be able to do? How will this work in multiplayer? It’s certainly the more interesting of the two offerings.

So how did you vote?

  • Battlefield 1’s WWI setting (95%)
  • The futuristic CoD (5%)

It was a resounding trouncing for CoD which means that EA and DICE had better deliver later this year.
