Activision and EA find themselves in a very odd situation today as some PC gamers who inserted the second Blops 2 disc discovered it contained Mass Effect 2. This is a right royal cock-up and no doubt EA and Activision will having words today.

The problem was highlighted by the by the Steam community as perplexed gamers turned to each other to find out what was going on. On the plus side, at least the rest of the game can be installed through Steam by activating the product code, it’s just a major hassle having to wait for a download to complete when you have purchased a retail copy.

We are still awaiting some official notice on this problem but hopefully everyone will be in the game by now.
