Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous — Radiance upgrade guide

Radiance is a special weapon in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. While you have a chance to obtain it during the prologue, you’ll also be able to boost its power considerably throughout the course of the campaign. How to Get Radiance

You can get Radiance in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous from the Shield Maze dungeon in the prologue. Specifically, you’ll reach the northwestern section of the map, which happens to have a gem puzzle. The solution is: Yellow -> Blue -> Red -> Yellow.

This will unlock a secret room where you can pick up the sword from a desk. From this point onward, make sure that Radiance is equipped by your main character in one of the alternate weapon slots. This is because the weapon has to be with you at certain moments in the campaign. This will avoid mishaps such as accidentally selling it or leaving it in your stash.

Act 1 and 2: Radiance Upgrade #1

For the first upgrade, make sure you talk to Joran Vhane in Defender’s Rest during Act 1. Show him the scabbard, and he’ll tell you that he might be able to do something with it. Then, it Act 2, you’ll assault the city of Drezen. You’ll meet Joran there once more. Before doing anything drastic, such as provoking hostilities and having no choice but to kill him, remind him about his promise to upgrade the sword.

Act 3: Radiance Upgrade #2

The second Radiance upgrade in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous can be obtained at the end of Act 3. You’ll find yourself in the Midnight Fane dungeon. There’s a glowing barrier that happens to have Yaniel and other prisoners trapped. Rescue them and make a decision:

• If you present the sword to Yaniel, it will turn into its +4 Holy version.
• If you stab Yaniel, it will turn into the +4 Bane version.

Act 5: Radiance Upgrade #3

The last key moment occurs in Act 5 when you make your way to Iz. In the southern section, you’ll battle Deskari. However, before the bout, Radiance will start glowing if it’s still with you. You’ll receive the +6 boost for the variant that you got when you rescued Yaniel earlier. This will complete all Radiance upgrades in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
