Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous — Legacy of the Ancients puzzle guide

The third puzzle.

There are several locations that you need to visit as part of the Secrets of Creation quest in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. One of these is the Legacy of the Ancients, which happens to have its own puzzle. Here’s our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Legacy of the Ancients puzzle guide to help you solve the task as part of Secrets of Creation Heart of Mystery.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Legacy of the Ancients puzzle and Place of Execution guide

Similar to the original puzzle in Conundrum Unsolved, you’ll use slab items (i.e., blocks with symbols). The user interface is atrocious because it’s hard to actually discern what these symbols look like in your inventory before you place them down. As such, we’ll try our best to provide screenshots, but we’ll also include our own naming convention for some symbols.

In any case, the Legacy of the Ancients area in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous can be found in the Gray Road region. The closest landmarks are Areelu’s Laboratory and the Ivory Sanctum. In all likelihood, though, you might be better off just using the teleporters in the Heart of Mystery in case you’ve solved the other riddles.

Now, before you could actually complete the task in the Legacy of the Ancients, you’ll want to go to the Place of Execution. This area is far to the northwest, well past Pulura’s Fall (seen in the image above). You can’t go here until Act 5, so you’ll have to progress further in the campaign.

Apart from the ornate chest here that has the slabs you need, this is also where you might find Corrupted Arueshalae in case you made her revert back to her demonic ways.

After getting the slabs, return to the Legacy of the Ancients cavern. Place the single blocks along the edges so you have a clue as to the task at hand. Generally speaking, the symbols at the edges denote which slabs should be used for that particular section, with some caveats. Examples include how you’ll want more “Z” symbols near the left, several “scissors” at the middle-left, and the “pound” sign in the middle-right.

You can see the completed Legacy of the Ancients puzzle in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous in the image below. Go ahead and grab the Elven Notes and Grasp of Devotion mace from the small room that just opened up. Lastly, don’t forget to visit Final Veil, which has another objective that can only be completed in Act 5.
