The all-consuming hive mind.

The Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is one of the most time-consuming and complicated options to get because of all the ways you can mess up. There’s even a decision which seems unrelated and innocuous at first, until you realize that it locks you out completely. Here’s our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous guide to help you unlock the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – How to unlock the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path

The first and probably the most important decision you need to make is at the start of Act II. In the Crusader’s Camp, you’ll be able to speak with Queen Galfrey. Do not tell her to join the crusade.

Yes, I know that many will probably make the mistake of having her join up because it seems like an okay decision at the time. Unfortunately, this will screw you over completely as I’ll explain below.

Fast forward and you should be able to enter the Leper’s Smile location. At the northern section of the highlands, you can kill the Vescavor Queen. After this, you have to pick the evil option so Anevia collects the Vescavor Queen’s slime.

Progress further until you assault the city of Drezen at the end of Act II. You have to choose the option to make the Vescavor plague spread, causing the locusts to appear in the city. If Queen Galfrey is with you, she’ll lead the charge. Likewise, she’ll also prevent you from taking this option as it causes severe casualties and damage.

But, if you’ve made the correct choices so far, you can continue onward and conquer Drezen. In Act III, you’ll receive a quest called Demonic Parasites where you’ll go to a house in the southern section of Drezen. Just examine the Vescavor Queen here but don’t kill it.

Next, progress further in the main quest until you fight Xanthir Vang. Ask him about his powers and find his notes in the room where he is. This gives you a decree called “Xanthir’s Experiments,” so make sure you complete it. Finally, at the start of Act V, you’ll be back at Drezen and the Vescavor Queen has fully matured. Interact with it and choose to eat it. This will unlock the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path once you hit Mythic Rank 8.

As for why it’s such a convoluted process, well, let’s put it this way: you are an insatiable entity that will devour all life and unlife. Because you pose a threat to the world, everyone will leave you except your little insect pals.
