Let’s talk about the Valmallos Threshold bosses and endings in Pathfinder: Wrath of the RighteousInevitable Excess.

Valmallos and Ssila’meshnik

The first battle here will depend on a few factors:

  • Back to back – If you went directly inside the dungeon without doing either Valmallos’ or Ssila’meshnik’s quest (i.e., Upholding Order or She Who Sows Chaos), then you’ll fight them back to back.
  • Ssila’meshnik fight – You completed Upholding Order (i.e., received eight Order points first).
  • Valmallos fight – You completed She Who Sows Chaos (i.e., received eight Chaos points first).

Ssila’meshnik tends to be a straightforward fight. Although there are two phases, you only need to focus on your main target to defeat her. Valmallos, though, is on a different level. The second phase will cause him to spawn multiple Axiomite marksmen and casters, and your party will get nuked if you can’t drop them quickly. You can only attack Valmallos after all the adds are dead.

Choosing An Ending

Pathfinder: Wrath of the RighteousInevitable Excess has multiple endings depending on what you’ve done throughout the course of the DLC, as well as the decisions you’ll make at this point.

  • Order – Complete Upholding Order, defeat Ssila’meshnik, and accept Valmallos’ plan.
  • Chaos – Complete She Who Sows Chaos, defeat Valmallos, and accept Ssila’meshnik’s plan.
  • Azata or Demon – When you talk to Valmallos, choose the Mythic Path response. This will make him turn hostile, and you’ll have to fight him. Then, once the Commander looks at the “other” party in the “real” Threshold, pick the Mythic Path reply once more.
  • Paradox – The complete steps are outlined in our Paradox secret ending guide. If you do it right, Areelu Vorlesh will show up once Ssila’meshnik is downed:
    • Reply to Valmallos with: “I think I’ll choose the path of paradoxes.” This will lead to a battle.
    • After killing him, talk to Areelu and tell her that you’re ready to let go of your Mythic Power.
  • Failure – To get this, follow the steps for the Paradox ending:
    • However, once you’ve killed Valmallos, tell Areelu: “I won’t help you escape the repository” -> “I won’t help you. That is my decision.”
    • The difference here is that the first ending slide won’t be there, as it’s assumed that the Excess failed.

What Exactly Do You Get?

So, what exactly is your reward after completing the DLC? Well, for the most part, you’ll receive the Inevitable Fate ability. This can be activated once per day, granting buffs to attack rolls, resistance against elemental damage, checks on spells you cast, and extra healing. The boost only lasts 10 minutes, though it won’t require a full campaign replay. You could just reload an earlier save, preferably from Act 2 onward, and it’ll be there for your main character.
