Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous‘ Inevitable Excess DLC has several objectives that you can do. These are, essentially, a means of gaining more Order or Chaos points, eventually leading you to a particular ending. It’s also a way to meet various NPCs related to the other Mythic Paths, including those that you didn’t choose in the regular campaign. Here’s our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess errands guide to help you with these sidequests.
Note: For more information, check out our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous guides and features hub. Likewise, you can take a look at our Paradox secret ending guide.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess — Errands and sidequests guide
I’ve split up our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess errands guide series into several sections. The sidequests His Majesty’s Anguish (Trickster – Thaberdine), Portal of Wishes (Azata – Aranka), and Cleansing the Ziggurat (Lich – Zacharius) have their own articles due to the steps. The rest, meanwhile, are discussed herein.
If you’re trying to get the Paradox secret ending, make a mental note of your decisions. Since there are nine errands and seven Keystone Rifts, you’ll need an equal number of Order and Chaos points (i.e., eight each) near the end of the DLC’s campaign.
Help the Storyteller
- Start location/NPC: Talk to the Storyteller in Threshold camp. You can start this as soon as you reach the camp.
- What happens next: The Storyteller’s Tower appears as a location when you exit the area. Make your way there and you’ll see him, along with Chaleb and the dragon Devarra.
- Order: Tell Storyteller to stand down, which causes you to fight him. There’s also an option to consume Storyteller if you picked Swarm-That-Walks. However, this seems to be buggy, and won’t actually grant you a point.
- Chaos: Tell Chaleb and Devarra that you won’t let them torch the place, leading to a battle against the two.
- Notable Loot: N/A
Deal with the Spinner of Nightmares
- Start location/NPC: Talk to Hilor in Threshold camp. You can start this as soon as you reach the camp.
- What happens next: The Spinner of Nightmares’ Lair appears as a location when you exit the area. Tell the NPCs that they’re all illusions, allowing you to interact with an icon in the corner. Lourry, Hilor’s corrupted daughter, will show up.
- Order: Kill Lourry. Alternatively, you can pick the Aeon or Swarm replies.
- Chaos: Tell Lourry that you’ll take her to Hilor. Alternatively, let her go her own way.
- Notable Loot:
- Everlasting Light (plate armor) in one of the containers.
- Gunkberries can also be found in a pouch on a desk across from where Lourry is.
Saving Irabeth
- Start location/NPC: Talk to Anevia in Threshold camp. You can start this as soon as you reach the camp.
- What happens next: Go to Iz and head to the northeastern portion of the map. There’s a section here with Irabeth and several fallen crusaders.
- Order: Tell Irabeth that you know what she is, and that you’ll destroy her.
- Chaos: Take Irabeth back to camp.
- Notable Loot: N/A
Saving Targona (Angel)
- Start location/NPC: Talk to Lariel in Threshold camp. He’ll show up in the main area after completing A Threat to This World.
- What happens next: Go to Iz and head to the eastern portion where you’ll find a circular dais. Lariel and Targona are there, along with some anomalies.
- Order: Make Lariel and Targona leave, or fight Targona. This can be done via the Angel, Diplomacy 50, and Intimidate 50 replies.
- Chaos: Fight Lariel. This can be done via the Demon reply, or saying that you can’t change Targona’s mind, followed by telling Lariel to step back.
- Notable Loot: N/A
Deal with Shamira (Demon)
- Start location/NPC: Talk to Yozz in Threshold camp. He’s just past the Other Side of Threshold portal in the central section of the map. You’ll realize that he’s planning to betray you soon.
- What happens next: Exit Threshold and pick any area via the storybook. You’ll be notified of a random encounter with Shamira. Yozz will also show up, and you’ll have to fight the duo, as well as other baddies. After the fight, it’s revealed that Yozz’s existence is mandated by Valmallos.
- Order: Spare Yozz or kill him quickly via the Lawful or Evil actions, respectively.
- Chaos: Mutilate Yozz via the Chaotic reply.
- Notable Loot: N/A
Devil on Trial (Devil)
- Start location/NPC: Talk to the three copies of Mephistopheles in Threshold camp. The clones will appear after completing A Threat to This World. They’re located in the far-left area of the map, past Yozz the ruined tower that acts as a bridge.
- What happens next: A mock trial will commence and you’ll have to sift through a lot of text.
- Order: You can attack Mephistopheles outright, though it’s gonna be a tough fight. Conversely, you can nod to the prosecution team three times for a guilty verdict.
- Chaos: Nod to the defense counsel three times for a not guilty verdict.
- Notable Loot: N/A
And Some Extra Loot
Last but not least, assuming you’ve done all the errands and sidequests in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess, you’ll be teleported to an area that’s just a short distance away from your Threshold camp. Take note of the following:
- You picked up the Intricate Device from the Other Side of Threshold portal secret.
- Threshold initially changed into the clockwork machinery version via Order points (as discussed in our Paradox ending guide).
You can place the Intricate Device in a contraption that will cause a bridge to form. This lets you open a chest that has a bunch of loot, such as diamonds, diamond dust, dinosaur bones, a Flawless Ring of Protection +7, and an elixir that gives a permanent +2 boost to a character’s ability scores.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is available via Steam.
