Owlcat’s Pathfinder: Kingmaker (with a little help from professional Kickstarter associate Chris Avellone) has exceeded its $500k USD goal on the crowdfunding platform. It’s now closing in fairly rapidly on a pair of defined stretch goals.
At the $550k mark, Owlcat will be adding a full camping mechanic. They say this is not just a “rest” button, but a chance to define who will keep watch and hunt for food. Sounds quite a bit like the system found in the Expeditions games (Viking and Conquistador). If they breeze beyond that in the final fifteen days, then the next goal is at $600k. That’ll add the Magus character class.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker will be a 40-80 hour game that uses the structure of the classic tabletop ‘Kingmaker’ campaign and expands upon it. The Kickstarter pitch video explains more.
