If you haven’t ventured into the fantasy world of Pathfinder: Kingmaker, you can do so for free this weekend. The clock is already ticking on the time you have to play for free, so you better hop to it if you’re looking for adventure. The free weekend will last until 1 PM ET on August 29.
No idea what Pathfinder: Kingmaker is? Here’s a quick primer. It’s an isometric party-based RPG in the style of Baldur’s Gate. Except instead of taking place in the Forgotten Realms, it’s set in the Pathfinder universe. More specifically, it’s set in the Stolen Lands, which you need to explore and conquer to forge your kingdom.
Begin by creating your unique character – hero or villain, the choice is yours. Then you’ll set out into the world to meet and team up with the vast cast of NPCs. You’ll conquer regions, claim them as your own, and make your mark on the world.
The Pathfinder: Kingmaker free weekend is for the Enhanced Plus Edition, which includes a ton of updated features that make the game better than ever. You can enjoy new content, new abilities, a new class, and, of course, new items and weapons.
The Enhanced Plus Edition also rebalances many parts of the game to make your experience more enjoyable. The beginning and last two chapters in particular have been reworked. Plus, the kingdom management system has been improved.
If you need more
If you find you enjoy adventuring in Pathfinder: Kingmaker, you can purchase it for 50% off until August 31 at 1 PM ET. Alternatively, you can pre-order the next title in the series, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. You can check out our preview of Wrath of the Righteous if you’d like some more information about the game.
There’s even a third option if you’ve been bitten by the classic role-playing game bug. You can dive into Baldur’s Gate 3, which is currently in Early Access. We’ve got some early access impressions for that and an entire guides and features hub to help you.
