His Majesty’s Anguish is one of the errands in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous‘ Inevitable Excess DLC. Your goal is to look for various ingredients in order to make a brew for a pretender king. Here’s our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess His Majesty’s Anguish guide to help you find reagents like Retchweed, Gunkberries, and Anomley for Thaberdine.
Note: For more information, check out our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous guides and features hub. Likewise, you can visit our Inevitable Excess errands/sidequests guide and Paradox secret ending guide.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess — His Majesty’s Anguish guide
You’ll receive the His Majesty’s Anguish errand in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess after completing A Threat to This World/Other Side of Threshold dungeon. A bunch of NPCs will show up in your camp. Thaberdine, someone Trickster players are familiar with, is among them (as seen in the featured image). Go ahead and chat with him to receive the task. You’ll then have to collect a bunch of reagents in various areas. You only need one of each, though you can obtain multiples of these herbs.
Gunkberries
Gunkberries can be found in either the Other Side of Threshold or the Spinner of Nightmares’ Lair. For the former, it’s dropped by a mob in the eastern area (i.e., past the first portal and before you reach the cylindrical puzzle if you’re taking the circuitous route). There’s a good chance that you’ve already looted this beforehand. For the latter, it’s on a table near Lourry’s spot.
Moldbloom Root
One Moldbloom Root is in the basement of the Clan Hall in Iz. You probably have this already since it’s in the same container as the Rusty Key. Alternatively, you can grab one from a pile of rubbish in the Free Crusaders Camp/Azata Court. It’s close to the area with the Portal of Wishes.
Retchweed
As far as I can tell, there is only one Retchweed location for the His Majesty’s Anguish errand in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess. You’ll have to take the initial steps to unlock the Paradox secret ending, allowing you access to Areelu’s Hut. The item is on a table inside the building.
Donkey’s Moss
You can find one of these herbs in the southern portion of Iz, next to one of the Keystone Rifts. An additional item can be picked up from the boss chamber in the Ziggurat (the entrance of which is in the northeastern corner of Iz).
Anomley
Anomley herbs tend to be plentiful. One is in a pouch in the central portion of the Threshold camp (just past the portal and a bit near Yozz). However, you can grab more by looting the Keketar mobs guarding the Keystone Rifts, too.
Order vs. Chaos
Return to Thaberdine once you have all the ingredients for the His Majesty’s Anguish errand in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Inevitable Excess. There are two possible outcomes here when you’re making your concoction:
- Order – Add all the reagents in any order except for Anomley.
- Chaos – Include Anomley in the brew.
If you’re going for the regular endings, then the choice really up in the air. But, if you want the Paradox secret ending, then you’ll want an equal number of Order and Chaos points toward the end.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is available via Steam.
