Palworld Player finds out what happens in your base when you’re away

I can't tell if they're super slacking off or working at lightning speed.

In Palworld, we benefit from a live feed of what our base Pals are up to, even when outside of our bases. This allows us to keep track of our Pals’ health and food consumption. However, we never truly know exactly what’s happening. But a player who goes by the name Pumpkeo found out and shared his findings with the Palworld Subreddit.

What our Pals are doing when we’re away in Palworld

Pumpkeo has uncovered what exactly Pals do when we’re out of the base. It turns out that they completely stop moving, and may teleport around now and then. But don’t think they’re not working! But sometimes they’re not. As usual.

It seems that this behavior is a result of you being too far away from them, so the game doesn’t render them in to save the frame rate and your system from exploding. However, another player, DrTuSo, pointed out that this behavior occurs when the Pals aren’t being actively seen by the player.

“If you play on 32:9 ultrawide, you can see the exact same thing happening on the area of your screen that is beyond the 16:9 area. Pals start to teleport instead of smooth animations.”

DrTuSo – Reddit

So this behavior isn’t a render issue, but an on-screen issue.

Thankfully, due to the live feed, we can tell that the game is still registering their actions and movements. The video shows items on the ground from them being dropped by Pals that are mining. Additionally, although they aren’t animated, you can see the strike of a Pal mining and the stream of a Pal watering. They are doing their tasks, which is reassuring to know.

Despite their tasks continuing, it must be to a lesser extent, as many players claim that upon returning home, they scarcely see any more resources deposited in their chests. Pals seem to work much better when you’re there, as computing their movements and actions is a priority, as you can see them and are around them.

Now that you know this secret in Palworld, why don’t you check out whether you can get to the Giant Tree?
