Palworld Anubis location, weaknesses, and skills

Enslaving Gods isn't a surprising feature for Palworld.

In Palworld, Anubis is not only a cool-looking Field Boss but a very powerful Ground-type Pal that you’ll want on your team. You can either challenge and capture the Field Boss or breed the Pal into existence.

How to find Anubis Boss location in Palworld

The Anubis Boss in Palworld is located in a hot desert close to the center of the map. The arena for Anubis looks awesome and is very hard to miss. It is marked by a great statue of Anubis himself, and you’ll find him parading around in front of it.

Considering this is located in a desert, you’ll want to bring the heat-resistant variant of whatever armor you’re using. Any heat-resistant accessories that you’ve found around in chests may also be of help here.

Best Pals to beat Anubis in Palworld

The Anubis Field Boss is level 47, so needless to say, he’s strong. Due to the elevated stats of being a boss, as well as being a naturally strong Pal, you’ll need everything you can to beat him.

You’ll ideally want a selection of powerful Grass-type Pals, at least level 40. Only field powerful Pals, ones that require a Giga or Hyper Sphere to catch.

Pals such as Mammorest, Verdash, and Elizabee are fantastic contenders to go toe-to-toe with Anubis. As long as you keep withdrawing your Pal when it’s in danger and then summoning them back into the action, you can prevent your Pal from suffering any damage at all.

One strategy I’d recommend is to have the captured Field Boss Elizabee with a team of four Beegardes, as each Beegarde will improve the stats of the Elizabee. At level 40, an Alpha Elizabee with four Beegardes behind it will have fantastic stats.

What’s more, is that you can power up your Elizabee, or any other Pal you’re using, through the Statue of Power.

To support your Pals, you can equip the Single-shot Rifle to land headshots that deal good damage against Anubis. Bringing Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor and the Refined Metal Helm, alongside the Hyper Shield, will be advised. Although if you keep dodging and letting your Pals do the dirty work, you’ll be fine to not worry about that sort of thing.

Fighting Anubis In Palworld

It is super difficult, but you can catch Anubis in this fight. The Legendary Sphere will, naturally, provide a decent chance. The Ultra Sphere may be able to pull it off if Anubis’ health is below 100 and if you have leveled up your Capture Power through the Statue of Power.

How to Breed Anubis in Palworld

Instead of fighting the Anubis Field Boss, you can instead hatch one from an Egg through breeding.

It is said that Penking and Bushi will produce an Egg that, once bred and hatched, will pop out an Anubis. This is, naturally, much easier than having to grind and defeat the boss.

Penking can be easily beaten and caught through the Penking Field Boss, located just north of the Rayne Syndicate Tower. They also frequent the southern Wildlife Reserve.

Bushi can be found on the southern shores of the large South-West island, in the bottom right corner of the map. A Field Boss Bushi can also be fought, found quite a ways westward of the Kingpaca Field Boss.

When breeding both of these Pals together in a Ranch, you’ll find a Large Rocky Egg. Hatching this will result in an Anubis. It does take an hour in the Egg Incubator, and it’ll take a small while for Penking and Bushi to fall in love and then even more time to produce the Egg, but it’ll still be quicker than facing the boss.

Note that the hatched Anubis will only be a level one Pal, so you’ll have to do all of the leveling and grinding yourself. Bringing it along as part of your high-powered team and taking on tough fights will fast-track the process, however.

Best Skills for Anubis in Palworld

Anubis will learn seven Active Skills in its lifetime, each getting more powerful. But just because a Skill is more powerful doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better than the others.

LevelSkill NameSkill DescriptionCooldown TimePower
1Stone BlastFires a barrage of stones forward.10 seconds55
7Power BombCharges a massive amount of energy before firing a large destructive ball.15 seconds70
15Sand TornadoGenerates two sand tornadoes on either side before launching them at an enemy.18 seconds80
22Spinning RoundhouseAnubis’s special skill. Performs a spin kick with its strong legs, cutting down enemies over a wide area.21 seconds100
30Forceful ChargeAnubis’s special skill. Pursues its foe with a high speed dash while releasing energy and unleashes a powerful punch.28 seconds120
40Ground SmashAnubis’s special skill. Leaps high into the air before diving to the ground with a punch. The force of the impact deals damage over a wide area.35 seconds140
50Rock LanceGenerates a sharp rock spear under an enemy.55 seconds150

I’d say that the best three Active Skills to have for Anubis are Rock Lance, Sand Tornado, and Spinning Roundhouse.

During combat, the long cooldown times for Ground Smash and Rock Lance make it impractical to have both equipped. Considering Rock Lance is stronger, although it takes almost a minute to recharge, it’ll deliver a staggering blow. The other two moves then need to be able to launch rather quickly to make up for it.

Sand Tornado and Spinning Roundhouse allow for numerous enemies to be hit at once, and they recharge relatively quickly while dealing great damage. Although Forceful Charge doesn’t take much longer than Spinning Roundhouse to cool down, these sorts of charge attacks are prone to problems. Getting stuck in the terrain or missing the mark will make the attack useless.

Now that you’re familiar with everything to do with Anubis, why don’t you challenge Mammorest King of the Forest, if you haven’t already?
