Navigating around in Palia can be rather difficult sometimes, especially if something or someone isn’t marked automatically as a quest objective. However, you may have missed that it is possible to set waypoints on the map. This is a handy dandy feature to make it far easier to get around the map or find an NPC you need. Here’s how to mark your objectives in Palia.
Palia Minimap guide: How to set your own objectives
Fortunately, it is relatively easy to do this. It’s just easy to miss if you’re only quickly glancing at the map and back. While the map is open (M key, as per usual expectations), move your mouse over any part of the map and press down on the mouse wheel.
There’s a slight delay, but it puts a marker down on the map you can then see on the navigation overlay above once you close the map.

This can be used to mark any spot on the map, but also the location bubbles and most importantly, NPCs. If you mark an NPC, they’ll be surrounded by a glowing white ring on the map. They’ll also now appear on the navigation overlay. Let’s say we want to mark Hassian so we can easily find him later. All we do is find him on the map, hover over him, and press down on the scroll wheel to mark him.
With that, he is marked until we go up and talk to him, at which waypoints disappear. This will make it much easier to track down NPCs, especially if they are not marked as a quest objective. The marker will follow them as they move around the map. Now you know how to mark objectives in Palia manually. Hopefully navigation is much easier now!
